Micrel Medical Devices is developing infusion pumps and telemedicine systems, with worldwide distribution. We are specialized in ambulatory and home care treatment. Our worldwide patented ubiquitous health technology that enables patient monitoring whilst on the move, being always connected to the Internet through mobile communications, provides new ways of delivering drugs, monitoring both their therapeutic and side effects, so increasing their therapeutic index. The same technology will bring an innovative solution to insulin expert system delivery/glucose monitoring in the near future. The system also offers high versatility to Home Care Providers, in organising and supporting Health Care at Home as well as preventing medication errors.

Our infusion pumps for PCA treatment, Parenteral Nutrition and Immunoglobulin infusion at home, are reference in Europe and Asia, while starting in the US. Our "therapy watch" web based service Micrelcare, communicating with our sensors and pumps, launched this year, is helping both Home Care Providers and Hospitals caring or discharging patients at home.

Short-term: New infusion pumps, telemedicine sensors for COPD and CHF patients, infusion therapeutic and side effects tele-monitoring increasing drug therapeutic index, miniature Raman spectroscope for glucose and ketones.

Long-term: Closed loop insulin delivery, pharmacogenetics / pharmacogenomics, CD4+ CD8+ virus load sensors, closed loop of other than insulin drugs, implantable sensors, neural network server based expert systems.
